There are two main ways to deal with termites, and they do different jobs. Which one is right depends on what the inspection finds, the construction of your building and where the activity is.
- Chemical barrier. The soil around the building is treated to create a protected zone, so termites cannot get to your timber undetected.
- Baiting system. In-ground or above-ground stations are used to eliminate the colony at the source, not just the termites you can see.
In many cases the two work together. A barrier protects the structure while a baiting system deals with an active colony nearby.
